SL5's Catherine Bond has had a run of impressive results for her clients, including the following:
Release of her lifer client who has served almost 50 years in custody
Re-release of her lifer client - she successfully argued that he should be released to his home address rather than to an AP, as his POM and COM wanted
8th release for her IPP client - she successfully argued the recall was unjustified. This was the second unjustified recall decision Catherine has attained for the same client.
Release of her lifer client from closed conditions, after he had suffered a knockback for open conditions by the Secretary of State at his last review
Release for her IPP client to a care home, which involved determined efforts by Catherine for the risk management plan to come together
Re-release of her lifer client who had been recalled for further offences
Re-release of IPP client - she successfully argued against onerous additional conditions
Re-release of lifer client - she successfully argued that no weight should be given to a finding of guilt at a prison adjudication for fighting
Looking to the year ahead with the IPP reforms on the horizon, Catherine's goal is to continue with her tireless representation of all her clients, but also to fight for IPP termination as soon as her clients are eligible.
