Catherine Bond has made another successful challenge to the Secretary of State's decision to refuse to refer her client's case to the Parole Board for a pre-tariff review.
After considering the representations Catherine submitted on her client's behalf, the Secretary of State accepted that there is a reasonable prospect of the Parole Board recommending her client's transfer to open conditions and reversed his original decision.
Catherine's client now has the opportunity for his case to be fully considered by the Parole Board, and hopefully progress to open conditions for the final part of his minimum term. This would put him in a strong position to seek his release when his minimum term (tariff) ends.
